Iran's oil and non-oil exports will reach surpass $40 billion dollars by the end of the current year (March 20), the head of exports commission of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Habibollah Asgaroladi, said on Feb. 28, Iran's ISNA News Agency reported.

"Previously $45 billion was set, but we can't reach that figure," he added.

He named sanctions and the wrong policies of the previous administration as the main reasons behind not reaching the goal.

"Iran's oil and non-oil exports stood at $37 billion in the first eleven months of the current year," Asgaroladi said.

He went on to note that the country's non-oil exports in the mentioned period were around $16 billion dollars.

"Iran's non-oil exports will surpass $19 billion by the end of year," Asgaroladi said.
