A high turnover in the production of black market alcoholic beverages in Kazakhstan has been observed, Kazakh Economy and Budget Planning Minister, Yerbolat Dossayev said on March 11.
He made the remarks at a government meeting, presenting a comprehensive plan on fighting the shadow economy in Kazakhstan during the years 2014-2015.
"The shadow turnover in production of alcoholic products, according to experts, stands at a level ranging from 25 to 30 percent," Dossayev said.
He said a draft law has been submitted to the country's parliament in order to fight illegal turnover of alcoholic products.
The draft law is aimed at tightening terms of production and sale of alcoholic products, toughening responsibility for violation in production and turnover of ethyl alcohol and alcoholic products, according to Dossayev.
