Number of appeals to Azerbaijani credit register ups by almost half

The centralised credit register service under the Central Bank of Azerbaijan received 200376 appeals in January, 2014 the official website of the CBA reported.

Compared to the same period in 2013 (140071 appeals), the number of appeals to the service has increased by 43.05 percent.

The register received 198 577 inquiries from the banks in January. About 1799 customers applied to obtain their own credit reporting.

As of late January, there were 1,989,156 borrowers, having information in the credit registry. The total number of credit data made up 6,745,680. The number of data on guarantors available in the registry was 861 699.

The centralised credit register service began operating since March 2005. The tariff for a single query on an individual is 1.1 manat, a legal entity - two manat. Credit registry does not pursue commercial objectives. Tariffs were imposed to cover administrative costs.

The official exchange rate on March 26 is 0,7843 AZN/USD.
