"AzMeCo" supports education of chemical faculty students

Last week "AzMeCo" granted another scholarship to the chemical faculty students of the Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. The meeting was held in the head office of the Company with the participation of the University teachers and the students of the chemical faculty.

Last week "AzMeCo" granted another scholarship to the chemical faculty students of the Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. The meeting was held in the head office of the Company with the participation of the University teachers and the students of the chemical faculty.

According to the results of the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year at the Baku branch of Moscow State University, and the University entrance exams for 2013-2014 academic year the "AzMeCo"'s golden degree scholarships were awarded to Yunusova Gunay, Aghayeva Milana, Kuzminskaya Olga, and Tahirova Sabina, silver degree scholarships - to Madatli Nigar, Hasanov Tabriz, Suvarli Narmin, and Amirova Sabina.

The purpose of this scholarship being the one of the "AzMeCo"'s Corporate Social Responsibility projects is to support education of the advanced and most successful students, as well as to contribute to the bringing up of future professionals for petrochemical industry of our country.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "AzMeCo" Company Nizami Piriyev at the meeting with the students noted that he gives particular importance to the development of the petrochemical industry in our country, and indicated that there is a great need for local young specialists in this area. He also said that after the completion of study, the students who are awarded the "AzMeCo"'s scholarships will have the opportunity of employment at the Company's first and only in the region methanol plant located in Garadagh. In addition, scholarship holders being the III and IV year students of the University will be able to pass practical training at the "AzMeCo"'s plant.

The Azerbaijan Methanol Company (AzMeCo) was founded in 2007. The company invests in petrochemical projects, carries out large-scale projects in Azerbaijan. In 2013, AzMeCo completed the construction and commissioned a methanol plant. The annual production capacity of the plant is 720,000 tons. Methanol plants are considered the cleanest and environmentally friendly plants of chemical industry.
