The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) issued notes to the amount of 360 million manat as part of the sterilization operations in the first quarter of 2014. Of this amount, notes in the amount of 66 million manat were put on auction and placed, according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's report on monetary policy in the first quarter of this year.
"The average yield on the notes was one percent at the last auction, whereas in the beginning of the year, this figure was 1.06 percent," according to a statement.
As of late March 2014, the volume of notes in circulation amounted to 90 million manat.
The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD on May 19.
