Cooperation agreements signed within Kazakh-British Forum

Two cooperation agreements were signed as part of the seventh Kazakh-British Forum in Atyrau on May 20, the Local Content Development Agency under the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies reported on May 20.

In particular, an agreement on cooperation was signed between AtyrauNefteMash and William Hare companies to establish a joint production of metal constructions for Tengizchevroil with an initial batch of 2,000 tons.

"If this project is successfully executed, the volume will increase to 20,000 tons in the future," AtyrauNefteMash director general Alexander Donskov said.

Aksai Industrial Park and Advanced Insulation reached another agreement on establishing a joint production of fire safety devices.

The annual Kazakh-British Forum is held upon an initiative of the Local Content Development Agency and the UK Trade and Investment Department at the British Embassy.

This year the British delegation consisting of 44 investment companies has been headed by British Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Kazakhstan, Professor Charles Hendry, who expressed hope to strengthen relations between the two companies.

"The turnover of 23 joint partnerships has amounted to about $ 150 million since 2011," chairman of the Local Content Development Agency Kairat Bekturgenev said. "The negotiations are underway to establish 62 partnerships, 35 of them are small and medium business. In case of success, the turnover of new partnerships can reach $ 2.5 billion through 2020 and up to 20,000 new jobs will be created."
