Azerbaijan-Georgia trade turnover slightly decreases

Azerbaijan keeps the second position among the largest foreign trade partners of Georgia, however, the trade turnover volume has slightly declined.

Turkey is the largest trading partner of Georgia ($520.14 million). Russia ranked third with $251.71 million.

The trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $391.98 million in January-April this year, according to the Georgian National Statistics Service's report on foreign trade. Some 11.4 percent of Georgia's total foreign trade turnover for four months of 2014 accounts to Azerbaijan.

The volume of the two countries' foreign trade operations decreased by 1.4 percent year over year.

For comparison, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia was a little over $397.54 million in January-April 2013.

Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to about $3.44 billion in January-April 2014 or by 14 percent more than in the same period of last year.
