The volume of steel bar export from Georgian to Azerbaijan increased by 2.2 times in a year, both in quantitative and monetary terms, Geostat (National Statistics Office of Georgia) said in its report on foreign trade.
Around 34,750 tonnes of steel bar totaling $21.45 million was exported to Azerbaijan in January-April, 2014, which is by 2.16 times, or 18,300 tonnes more than in the same period of 2013, according to the report.
By comparison, some 15,850 tonnes of steel bar totaling $9.93 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-April 2013.
The specific weight of the goods belonging to this category, accounted for 11.38 percent of the total volume of Georgia's exports.
In total, around $188.45 million worth goods was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-April, 2014. Export to Azerbaijan has decreased by 9.83 percent compared to the same period of 2013. By comparison, about $208.99 million worth of Georgian goods were exported to Azerbaijan in January -April, 2013.
