Azerbaijan increases exports of building materials to Georgia by almost a quarter

The volume of Azerbaijani building materials exported to Georgia increased by 22.38 percent during a year, according to the Georgian National Statistics Service's foreign trade report.

Some 36,010 tons of construction gypsum and other anhydrite in the amount of $6.18 million were exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in January-April 2014 or by 8,130 tons more compared to the same period of last year. For comparison, some 27,880 tons of building materials in the amount of $5.05 million were exported to Georgia in January-April 2013, according to the report.

The share of construction materials in a total volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the period totaled 3.04 percent.

Georgia imported products amounting to $203.53 million from Azerbaijan in January-April 2014. For the period, the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the period increased by 7.94 percent.
