Iran's daily car output has passed 4000 cars, Iran's deputy industry minister, Mohsen Salehinia said, Iranian Fars news agency reported on May 29.

Salehinia said that the country's auto industry's output has increased significantly in recent months, without revealing any detailed statistics.

Salehinia went on to say that currently the two giant Iranian car manufacturers Iran Khodro and Saipa produce 2300 and 2000 cars per day respectively.

It should be noted that Iran produced 655,551 cars during the 11-month period from March 2013 to February 2014.

Earlier Mohammadreza Najafimanesh, a member of the board of directors of the association of Iranian car part makers said that the country's yearly car output is projected to hit 1.3 million by March 2015.

Iran's auto industry suffered big blows due to imposed sanctions by the Western countries. In 2013, certain sanctions against Iran were suspended, as a result of the reached nuclear agreement. Iran was permitted to import materials for its auto manufacturing sector as a result of the nuclear deal implementation.

Iran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made it Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer.

Iran exported 10,744 sedans during the 12-month period from March 2013 to March 2014, with some 4,231 of that amount only exported in the latest month (Iran's fiscal year starts on March 21).

The country's automobile output faced 40 percent decrease in 2012. Iran was Asia's 5th largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
