Kenya intends to directly export its tea to Kazakhstan. The remarks were made during the meeting of Kazakhstan's ambassador to Egypt, Berik Aryn with Kenya's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amina Mohamed.
The meeting took place during the ambassador's visit to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting, Kenya's minister Amina Mohamed stressed that Nairobi is interested in intensifying the bilateral relations with Kazakhstan.
She said that the two countries have great potential to increase the volume of the bilateral trade that exceeded $73 million in 2013, adding that one of the ways of achieving this is to start direct exports of Kenya's tea to Kazakhstan.
During the visit to Nairobi, the Kazakh ambassador also held a meeting with the Secretary General of the All Africa Conference of Churches, Dr. Andre Karamaga and discussed the ways of promoting the intercultural and inter-religious dialogue.
Regarding this, Berik Aryn gave detailed information about Kazakhstan's successful experience in this sphere and the activities of Kazakhstan's Assembly of People and the initiative of the country's President Nursultan Nazarbayev to convene the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
In turn, the head of the All Africa Conference of Churches, which brings together some 174 national churches, praised Kazakhstan's domestic policy that has ensured the peaceful development in the multi-ethnic country.
