Reconstruction and modernization of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, which is one of the largest avenues in the capital will be completed in time for the Baku 2015 First European Games, according to the head of the "Azeryolservis" JSC of the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry, Javid Gurbanov.

The construction, reconstruction and renovation of a number of road facilities will be completed by the time of holding the games in Baku, he told Trend.

Completion of the work on the organization of road infrastructure in the area of Baku Olympic Stadium, the construction of the highway near the Water Sports Palace in the Sabail district, repair and adoption of the Baku ring road, and cleaning and painting work of Heydar Aliyev Avenue is planned, Gurbanov said.

Also, most intermediate roads in the city should be brought into proper condition by the European Games, the JSC head said.

At the 41th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committee in Rome, it has been decided to hold the first-ever European Games in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku. Games will be held on June 12-28, 2015. The General Assembly of the European Olympic Committee made a decision to hold the first European Games in Baku as a result of a secret ballot by 38 of 48 votes (eight - against, two - abstained).
