Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev initiated "Zhigermunayservis" LLP in Atyrau (western Kazakhstan) during a national online teleconference, the Acorda press service reported.
"The new production on PDC bits and spare parts of bottomhole assembly elements of drilling string has no analogues in Kazakhstan. The production meets international standards. The share of Kazakh content in the project is more than 65 percent," reference material provided before the start of the teleconference said.
Today, the plant occupies 30 percent of the market on sale of finished products.
However, the demand of Kazakh drilling and service companies on PDC bit is constantly growing and is expected to be 1,000 units per year.
The uniqueness of the bit production lies in the manufacturing of complex geometric shapes on high-precision , 5-cordinated lathe machining centres with numerical software.
Bits have high durability and give high penetration rate - 2-3 times higher than ordinary cone bits, as well as are more economical.
The equipment used at the plant can be adapted for any design of bit, which allows production of a wide range of bits of different designs.
The cost of the project is 274.5 million tenge (1 USD/183.5 tenge).
