Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover increased over 6 percent since beginning of year

The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 6.3 percent up to $14 billion in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 according to the preliminary data, the report of the Uzbek State Committee on statistics said.

The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 6.3 percent up to $14 billion in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 according to the preliminary data, the report of the Uzbek State Committee on statistics said.

The export totaled $7.22 billion in the total volume of foreign trade which is eight percent more than the same period last year, the report said. In turn, imports increased by 4.6 percent up to $6.74 billion.

The surplus of the Uzbek foreign trade turnover amounted to $482.1 million in January-June this year versus $242 million a year earlier, the statistical report said.
The report did not provided data on the commodity structure of exports and imports, as well as on key trade partners of Uzbekistan for the reported period.

In 2013 the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan grew by 9.4 percent - up to about $29 billion, according to the state committee.

The exports grew by 10.9 percent - up to $15.87 billion, imports - by 7.7 percent (up to about $14 billion) trade surplus amounted to about $1.3 billion.
