Unemployment in Turkey fell in May, 2014 by 0.2 percent, compared to the same month of last year, standing at 8.8 percent, according to a message from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
TUIK said in its message that there were 2,551,000 unemployed in Turkey in May, 2014.
As of May 1, 2014, Turkey's population was 75,627,384 people.
Some 21.9 percent of the employed Turkish citizens are working in agriculture sector, 20.2 percent - in industry, and 7.4 percent - in construction, according to the message.
The remaining 50.5 percent of citizens are employed in other sectors of the economy.
