By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran's date production has decreased 15 percent in the current year.
Drought and hot winds were the two main factors which led to the decline in date production, Iran's ILNA news agency reported on Aug. 26.
Iran is the seventh leading exporter of dates. Iran's Customs Administration reported that the country exported 19,100 tons of dates, valued at $37 million, in spring 2014, showing a 15 percent rise both in weight and value compared to spring 2013.
