Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 25
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies prepares for the tender as part of the Azerspace-2 telecommunication satellite construction project, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Iltimas Mammadov told reporters Sept. 25.
"At present, the ministry determines the technical parameters to which the satellite must correspond," he said.
"The ministry received very interesting proposals," Mammadov said. "The preparation for the tender is underway. Unsuccessful experience of some countries shows that one must not rush with the implementation of such projects. Currently, the ministry has sufficient experience in this field and attracts the high level specialists and experts."
Currently, the submitted proposals are assessed. After the final requirements are determined, the tender will be announced.
"One of the important issues of the tender process is to determine the sources of funding, the orbital position for the satellite and others," Mammadov said. "All these details are being examined and the tender will be announced."
