The first session of the Chinese yuan/Kazakh tenge currency pair trading was held at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on Sept. 25, KASE reported.
The session was attended by representatives of Kazakh National Bank, People's Bank of China, Subsidiary of Bank of China in Kazakhstan, Subsidiary Bank of Russian Sberbank.
The trading in the Chinese yuan was conducted within the morning trading session on KASE from 10:15 to 11:00 Almaty time (UTC/GMT +6 hours).
The volume of transactions in the Chinese yuan concluded on KASE on the first day of trading hit 5.928 million tenge (181.88 tenge =$1). In total, 2 transactions each worth 200,000 yuan, were concluded at a price of 29.64 tenge per yuan.
Obligations of the market-maker for the Chinese yuan on KASE have been assigned to Subsidiary Bank of Bank of China in Kazakhstan and Subsidiary Bank of Russian Sberbank.
