Vice president of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck arrives in Baku for a discussion of the prospects for cooperation with Azerbaijan, the WB office in Azerbaijan told Trend Oct.28.

Visit of Laura Tuck will be held November 4-5.

"The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the program of the bank in Azerbaijan and discuss further cooperation with the government," said the office.

Laura Tuck took office as vice-president of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia September 24, 2013.

The new strategy of the bank's activities in Azerbaijan should be prepared by May 2015, WB Baku Office head Larisa Leshchenko told Trend earlier.

She said that the budget and the main directions of the strategy are currently being specified, and therefore a systematic diagnosis will soon begin.

"All of this work will be undertaken in the next 3-4 months," said Leshchenko. "The strategy should be finalized by May 2015 (previously approval of the strategy was expected in the first quarter). In fact, intensive consultations on the concept of strategy, priorities, etc. will be conducted in fall and winter."

Azerbaijan is a member of the World Bank since 1992. Loan agreements signed between Azerbaijan and the WB amount to $4.086 billion.
