By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Four Iranian firms have been certified to export chicken meat to Russia.
Mehdi Khalaj, head of Iran's Veterinary Organization, said the companies will be introduced to the Russian veterinary organization in the next two days, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Nov.3.
"The Russian veterinary organization will evaluate eligibility of Iranian companies and will announce the result to us," he added.
Iran has a capacity to produce 2 million tons of chicken meat per year. The country is the seventh largest chicken meat producer in the world, according to Iran's Ministry of Agriculture.
Iran imported $434,499,434 of goods from Russia and exported $153,763,405 of goods to Russia in the first seven months of the current Iranian year, which began on March 21, according to the Iran Customs Administration's report, which was published on Monday.
