Kazakhstan to build ferroalloys plant

Kazakhstan will start the construction of a ferroalloys plant worth $253 million in 2015, the governor of the Kyzyl-Orda region of Kazakhstan, Krymbek Kusherbayev said Nov. 7 at a briefing at the Central Communications Service.

"We expect to start in the spring the construction of a ferroalloys plant worth $253 million, the feasibility study of which is ready," he said.

Kusherbayev added that the construction documents are being prepared, and then a state inspection and the registration of the joint venture will be held.

He said the plant will be able to produce up to 160,000 metric tons of low aluminium ferrosilicon per year.

"The area of deliveries may be the most extensive, starting from China up to Europe," Kusherbayev said.
