Iran’s Central Bank sells $25.8B last fiscal year

Iran's Central Bank sold $25.821 billion at official rate in the past fiscal year, which ended on March 20, 2014.

According to the latest report of the Central Bank, the figure shows 38.8 percent drop compared to the fiscal year that ended in March 2013, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on Dec. 28.

Based on the report, the Central Bank sold $19.408 billion at reference rate and $6.413 billion at the official rate.

The reference rate is about 12,000 rials and the official rate is about 24,700 rials.

Meanwhile, the US dollar exchange rate was 21,250 rials on average in fiscal year 1392 (March 2013-March 2014), showing 73.4 percent rise compared to the year before.
