Nakhchivan launches SMS exchange service between CDMA, GSM

Wireless operator of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) Naxtel launched the service for sending SMS-messages to the networks of GSM operators in Azerbaijan, the Information Technology Center (ITC) of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend Jan.6.

The project was implemented in cooperation with ITC and the Ministry of Communications and New Technologies of the NAR. Information about the SMS sent is daily recorded in the servers of ITC. Subscribers of Naxtel can pay for the service by both post offices and means of online payment.

The cost of sending SMS to Naxtel is 0.02 AZN, to the network of GSM operators of Azerbaijan is 0.03 AZN, the cost of international SMS is 0.05 AZN.

Wireless operator Naxtel obtained a license to use frequencies to deploy LTE network in September of 2013. Currently, the operator provides services of a wireless communication in the CDMA standard, using the frequency band 800-900 MHz.

Naxtel told Trend earlier that the company has prepared a draft on deployment of 4G network, which will be available on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
