By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

Kazakhstan abolished the value added tax (VAT) from cars imported from the countries of the Customs Union, said the report of the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business with reference to the Ministry for Investment and Development of the country.

"Abolition of value added tax to cars imported from the countries of the Customs Union in Kazakhstan, applies only to natural persons importing cars for personal use (not for business) without any right to resell at certain dates defined by the legislation," said a statement.

The report said that in recent years, many Kazakh media pay more attention to the topic of import of cars from the Customs Union to Kazakhstan, especially after the entry into force of the Treaty on establishing the Eurasian Economic Union and the new Technical Regulations of the Customs Union.

"At the same time, many people write that the certification of new and used vehicles imported from Russia and Belarus, is not needed now," the report said. "That's an error. Legal and natural persons must get an approval (for the import) of type of the vehicle of the Customs Union, which confirms that this type of vehicle meets all established standards of quality and safety in the CU during the import of new cars to the territory of Kazakhstan."

"I do not recommend the citizens of Kazakhstan to buy cars that do not meet technical regulations and the minimum environmental standard Euro 4," said the president of the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business Andrei Lavrentiev. "It will be impossible to put such vehicles on registration."

The Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 as a voluntary association of official dealers, importers, distributors of the car market of Kazakhstan.
