The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has raised its forecast for Uzbekistan's GDP growth for 2015 from 7.6 percent projected in September 2014 up to 7.8 percent, according to the bank's January report "Regional Economic Prospects in EBRD countries of operations".

According to the forecast, the inflation will be 11 percent in 2015. This corresponds to the level of last year.

The economic growth amounted to 8 percent in Uzbekistan in 2014 (the bank's September forecast - 7.5 percent), the report says.

EBRD said that the situation in Russia will affect the economic development of Uzbekistan as the remittance volume from Russia to Uzbekistan, as well as the bilateral trade volume between the two countries will be reduced.

In early January, WB reduced its forecast for GDP growth to 7.4 percent in Uzbekistan in 2015 compared to 7.9 percent projected in October 2014.

According to the Uzbek government, the country's GDP in 2014 increased by 8.1 percent compared to 2013, the volume of industrial production - by 8.3 percent, agriculture - 6.9 percent.

The inflation hit 6.1 percent.

In 2015, the government plans to ensure GDP growth by eight percent, industrial production - 8.3 percent, agricultural production - 6 percent, the volume of capital investments - 9.6 percent and the forecasted inflation - 5.5 - 6.5 percent.
