The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will deliver a loan worth $108 million for Georgia to improve urban infrastructure.

The relevant agreement was signed by Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri and Director General of the ADB Central and West Asia Department Klaus Gerhauzer, the Georgian Finance Ministry told Trend Feb. 6.

Such important infrastructure projects in western Georgia as the creation of the water supply system in Zugdidi and the sewerage system reconstruction in Poti, including the construction of sewage treatment plants are planned to be financed as part of the agreement.

Georgia and ADB signed a framework agreement in 2011 to finance the "Investment program on the urban infrastructure improvement". It envisages the allocation of the loan worth $ 500 million for the projects to improve water and sewerage systems in seven towns (Mestia, Anaklia, Kutaisi, Poti, Ureki, Zugdidi and Marneuli) in 2011-2019.

Three tranches worth $ 218 million have been delivered as part of the program. Another loan worth $ 108 million will be the fourth one delivered as part of the program.
