Turkish optical company put up for sale

Some 65 percent of one of the Turkish largest optical companies Merve Optik's shares have been put up for sale, the Turkish State Public Enlightenment Agency's statement posted on its website said on April 29.

The French Essilor Optica International Holding SL company has announced its intention to buy a 65 percent stake of the Turkish company. The value of shares has not been disclosed, the statement said.

Merve Optik was founded in 1987.

The company has been represented in 19 countries, including CIS countries (Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine), the Balkan countries, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, Iran, Libya, Jordan and African countries.
