Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ordered the government to manage foreign trade.

The Iranian government cabinet met Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the occasion of the Government Week in Iran.

Expressing gratitude to the Rouhani administration for comprehensive efforts in all governmental areas, Khamenei issued a number of guidelines in the areas of economy, science, culture, and politics, the Leader's official website reported August 26.

Khamenei praised the achievements of President Hassan Rouhani's administration in the past two years, including the efforts to curb inflation, the health reform plan, planning for continued scientific progress and water management projects.

He raised concern over the scarcity of attention given to enemies' efforts against Iran.

The Leader called for full vigilance against enemies' plots to find a way into the country.

"Of course, methods of enmity and doing harm may change and renew; however, all 'political, economic, and cultural' authorities must be vigilant not to play into the hands of the enemy under any circumstances and so that their (the authorities') decisions do not willingly or unwillingly help implement the package envisaged by the enemies," the Leader said.

"If we abandon our vigilance, we will suddenly find the enemy having infiltrated in certain areas and being engaged in dangerous cultural, economic and political activities; therefore, we must be completely careful," he noted.

He also urged all-out efforts to improve the country's scientific status.

Ayatollah Khameni also said it is necessary to create healthy cultural products and prevent the production of harmful cultural products.

Regarding economic relations, he said more attention should be given to the management of foreign trade.

Care must be taken not to turn the country into a market for foreign consumer goods, he cautioned.

He also urged the creation of a comprehensive plan to implement the resistance economy policies he had introduced into Iran's economic literature earlier.

The country can achieve high economic growth rates, he asserted.

Regarding the nuclear deal, he said the conclusion to the nuclear negotiations was one of the very important measures that have been taken, and we hope for the settlement of issues and problems that may exist in this regard.
