Georgia keeps reducing import of Azerbaijani goods

Georgia imported $357.8 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan in Jan.-Aug. 2015, or 9.85 percent less than in the same period of 2014

Georgia imported $357.8 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan in Jan.-Aug. 2015, or 9.85 percent less than in the same period of 2014, GeoStat, National Statistics Office of Georgia said in its foreign trade report for the eight months of 2015.

Georgia imported $396.9 million worth Azerbaijani goods in Jan.-Aug. 2014.

Azerbaijan ranks fourth among the countries from which Georgia imports products. The share of Azerbaijani export in the total volume of goods imported by Georgia is 7.2 percent.

Georgia imported most part of goods from Turkey. The country's import from Turkey totaled $854.85 million during the reporting period, or 17.3 percent of the total volume of import.

China ranks second with $398.3 million and 8.1-percent share in the total volume of Georgian import.

Georgia mainly imports gas, petroleum products, electricity, construction materials and other products from Azerbaijan.
