Romania eyes bigger economic ties with Azerbaijan

Romania is interested in developing economic ties with Azerbaijan, Romanian ambassador to the country Daniel Cristian Ciobanu said.
He made the remarks during the meeting with the deputy head of the Shaki City Executive Power Hasan Hasanov, said the press release from Romanian embassy in Baku.
Ciobanu pointed out that there are good prospects for boosting the exchange of goods and increasing the volume of trade at regional level.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania stood at $132.17 million in Jan.-Oct. 2015, or 0.96 percent less than in the same period in 2014, according to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee.
Hasanov for his part, praised the excellent cooperation between Romania and Azerbaijan in all fields.
Moreover, the head of the Romanian diplomatic mission presented the opportunities opened by the project of the transport corridor between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea for increased cooperation in trade.
During his working visit to Shaki, Ciobanu will deliver a lecture at Shaki branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute on the prospects for NATO-Azerbaijan partnership.
