The counter services had one of the leading places in foreign economic relations of Azerbaijan in January-September 2015. Their total turnover amounted to $9.9 billion, which is 5.71 percent less than in the same period of 2014.
The services worth $ 6.7 billion were rendered to Azerbaijani residents by non-residents, the balance of payments published on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said Dec. 17.
During this period, Azerbaijani residents rendered the services totaling $ 3.2 billion to the residents of foreign countries.
Some 18.6 percent accounted for the transportation services in the balance of counter services.
The turnover of transport services totaled $ 1.8 billion, which is 23.29 percent more than in January-September 2014.
For comparison, the turnover of transport services amounted to $1.46 billion and its share in the balance of counter services - 13.8 percent in the first three quarters of 2014.
The non-residents spent some 61.2 percent of these funds by using the transport systems of Azerbaijan. The cost of transport services rendered to Azerbaijani residents by non-residents amounted to $713.9 million.
Thus, the share of counter services in the total volume of Azerbaijan's export-import operations with foreign countries amounted to 33.8 percent for the first three quarters of 2015.
