Uzbekistan in 2016 will complete the construction of 63 new wells in the gas condensate fields in the Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions (south of Uzbekistan) worth nearly $480 million, representative of the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company (NHC) told Trend Dec.22.
The representative said that the wells will be built on the fields of unitary subsidiaries "Mubarekneftegaz", "Shurtanneftegaz" and "Gazlineftegazdobycha" of the "Uzneftegazdobycha" joint-stock company (a part of "Uzbekneftegaz").
The construction will be carried out by Eriell international oilfield services group, which in 2014 won the tender for the construction of wells on the "turnkey".
The project implementation started in February 2015, its implementation period is 15 months. The project is financed through equity of "Uzbekneftegaz".
The volume of expected production on the mentioned wells is not disclosed.
It was earlier reported that a program for development of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry for 2015-2019 was worked out and submitted to the country's leadership.
The implementation of the program will ensure 468.7 million tons of increase in oil equivalent, including 365 billion cubic meters of increase in natural gas reserves and 31.7 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons.
The capacity of "Uzbekneftegaz" currently allows producing around 70 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 8 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons per year.
Starting from 2014, no data on volumes of hydrocarbons production in Uzbekistan are available.
