Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR at present does not need to buy gas from other countries, said the company's vice president for investments and marketing, Elshad Nasirov.
"If AzMeCo [Azerbaijan Methanol Company], Azerenergy JSC or any other companies want to buy gas from Gazprom on more favorable terms, they can use SOCAR's infrastructure," said Nasirov, according to a message posted on the SOCAR website Feb. 1.
It was reported earlier that SOCAR is ready to assist Azerenergy JSC in purchasing Russian gas.
Azerenergy JSC is the main energy producer in Azerbaijan.
