By Azad Hasanli - Trend:

Azerbaijan reduced the import of goods from Georgia by 7.5 times up to $3.8 million in January 2016 compared to January 2015, the Georgian National Statistics Service's report said.

According to the report, Azerbaijan's share in the total volume of goods exported from Georgia is three percent.

For a long time, Azerbaijan has been one of the leaders in the import of goods from Georgia.

However, as of January, Azerbaijan left top 10 countries. This is connected with the temporary ban on import of cattle from Georgia, as well as a sharp reduction in exports of cars and other products.

For comparison: Azerbaijan imported goods worth $240.4 million in 2015 by ranking first.
Georgian goods worth $28.5 million were exported to Azerbaijan in January 2015.

Georgia mainly exports pipes, cars, medicine, iron alloy and other goods to Azerbaijan.

According to the report, Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to nearly $53.3 million in January 2016 (a 48.2 percent decrease during the year). The share of Azerbaijan's trade turnover with Georgia amounts to 10 percent of the total volume of foreign trade of the country.
