After last year's decline, oil production in Kazakhstan in terms of value started to grow: in January-April of 2016, it amounted to 2.1 trillion tenges (329.89 tenges = $1), which is 14 percent more than in the same period of 2015, Energyprom.kz analytical service reported.

At the same time, a slight 2.2 percent decline in oil production in real terms for the year has been observed in Kazakhstan, according to the service.

In January-April 2015, oil production in Kazakhstan in value terms fell by 45.1 percent compared to the same period in 2014. In general, for the entire 2015, volumes of oil production in value terms decreased by 37.7 percent.

The last significant oil production increase in value terms was observed in Kazakhstan in 2011 (a 38.4 percent growth compared to 2010).

Oil production in the first four months of 2016 amounted to 37.9 percent of the total volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan (40.3 percent in the same period of 2015).

More than 81 percent of the total volume of crude oil and petroleum products in Kazakhstan accounted for the export, according to the data for January-February of 2016.
