Iran and UK signed a memorandum of understanding in railway sphere, the official website of Iran's Embassy in UK said on May 26.
The report says that Managing Director of Iranian Railways Mohsen Pour Seyed Aghaei who serves as the deputy of Minister for Transport, Roads and Urban Development signed the MoU with his British counterpart Robert Goodwill.
"The MoU covers the scientific and technology cooperation in railway sphere, aimed to expand Iran's railroads," the report said.
The sides also discussed the potential cooperation opportunities in the transport sector.
Goodwill, who visited Iran on April 11, previously told IRNA that UK is ready to help the development of Iran airport and aviation industry.
"UK is ready to transfer airport and aviation knowhow to Iran and help Tehran to develop its passenger terminals," he said.
