Cargo transportation via pipelines increased by 0.9 percent in Kazakhstan in H1 2016 and stood at 108.62 million tons, read a message issued by the Kazakh Economy Ministry’s Committee on Statistics.

During the period, the revenues from cargo transportation via pipelines in Kazakhstan increased by 21.5 percent and totaled 569.51 billion tenges (338 tenges = $1).

In total, around 1.68 billion tons of cargo was transported by all types of transport in the country in H1 2016, or 0.1 percent less than in the same period of 2015.

The revenues from transportation of cargo, baggage and cargo luggage by all types of transport in Kazakhstan stood at 923.6 billion tenges in January-June 2016.

Cargo and baggage transportation by motor and urban transport increased by 1.41 trillion tons, while air and sea transportation of cargo and baggage decreased by 3.6 percent (7,580 tons) and 9 percent (around 1.29 million tons), respectively.

Rail transportation of cargo and baggage stood at 153.9 million tons in H1 2016, or 3.9 percent less than in the same period in 2015.
