Kazakhstan’s industry still focused on oil

Oil production remains as the main sector in Kazakhstan’s industry, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee.

As much as 39.1 percent of total industrial production in Kazakhstan, or 3.95 trillion tenges (343.39 tenges = $1), fell on the share of oil production in January-July 2016.

Gas production totaled 96.92 billion tenges, or 1 percent of industrial production. As much as 5.4 percent of industrial production fell on metal ore extraction.

Total industrial production reached 10.1 trillion tenges in January–July 2016.

Manufacturing sector accounted for 40.7 percent of total industrial production, or 4.11 trillion tenges in January-July 2016.

Metallurgy production reached 1.82 billion tenges, or 18.1 percent of total industrial production in Kazakhstan. Food production amounted to 719.21 billion tenges, or 7.1 percent of industrial production in the reporting period.

Electricity production and supply amounted to 517.86 billion tenges, or 5.6 percent of industrial production.

Oil products output accounted for 3.4 percent of industrial production, or 348.45 billion tenges.

Production in engineering amounted to 340.45 billion tenges, or 3.4 percent of industrial production in Kazakhstan in January-July 2016.
