Russia ranks second among Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners

Turkey is keeping its leadership in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners with a trade turnover worth $2.12 billion as of January-November 2016, says the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee’s report posted on its website Dec. 15.

According to the report, Turkey’s share among trade partners is 13.23 percent.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey increased by 61.8 percent for the year.

Russia ranked second among trade partners in November 2016. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia reached $1.74 billion increasing by 3 percent compared to January-November 2015.

Russia’s share among trade partners is 10.82 percent.

Italy ranked third among trade partners of Azerbaijan. Some 10.77 percent ($1.73 billion) account for Italy.

The country is followed by Germany with $942.74 million (5.88 percent) and China with $841.97 million (5.25 percent).

The share of these countries in Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover is 45.95 percent.

However, Italy remained the main country for the imports of Azerbaijani products. Some $1.42 billion (17.12 percent) accounted for that country.

Turkey with $1.05 billion (12.68 percent), Taiwan with $701.42 million (8.44 percent), Germany with $579.61 million (6.97 percent) and Israel with $572.95 million (6.89 percent) are holding the leading positions in terms of exports from Azerbaijan.

These countries’ share in Azerbaijan’s total exports is 52.1 percent.

Russia led the countries in terms of exports to Azerbaijan with $1.37 billion or 17.75 percent of Azerbaijan’s total imports in January-November 2016. Russia is followed by Turkey with $1.07 billion (13.82 percent), China with $636.51 million (8.25 percent), the UK with $470.09 million (6.09 percent) and the US with $433.89 million (5.62 percent).

The share of these countries in Azerbaijan’s total imports is 51.53 percent.

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with 183 countries amounted to $16.03 billion in January-November 2016, which is by 20.2 percent less than in the same period of 2015.

Azerbaijan exported goods worth $8.31 billion and imported goods worth almost $7.72 billion.
