In January-March 2017, insurance companies in Azerbaijan issued 19,452 policies on compulsory real estate insurance, and the premiums on this type of insurance amounted to 5.68 million manats, Azerbaijan’s Compulsory Insurance Bureau said in a message.
The number of contracts on this type of insurance increased by 21.8 percent, and the volume of premiums decreased by 32.1 percent in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016.
The message said that 12,941 policies (66.5 percent) accounted for housing and apartment insurance, 124 policies (0.6 percent) accounted for insurance of administrative buildings, and 6,387 policies (32.8 percent) accounted for insurance of other facilities.
There are 21 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.
