The export of Azerbaijani non-oil products increased by 32.5 percent in January-March 2017 compared to January-March 2016, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy Sahil Babayev said.

He made remarks at the 4th International Caspian Energy Forum-2017 being held in Baku Apr. 12.

Babayev added that the export of industrial goods from Azerbaijan increased by 25 percent during the reporting period.

"One of the main goals of the economic policy pursued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is to diversify the economy, increase export potential and export of the non-oil products," Babayev said.

He added that the investment promotion documents were submitted to the Azerbaijani ministry of economy for the implementation of 121 projects worth more than 1.2 billion manat over the last year as part of the investment promotion mechanism in the country.

He said that the ministry received over 80 applications from exporters in January-March 2017.

According to the decision of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, the following coefficients are applied to the goods in case of export promotion: honey - 1.5, dried fruits - 1.5, persimmons - 1, pomegranate - 1, pastries - 1.5, canned vegetables and fruits – 1.5-2 depending on using vinegar and sugar, jams and fruit jellies, marmalade, fruit and nut paste - 2, fruit and vegetable juices - 2, sauces and spices - 2, natural or artificial mineral water - 1.5, soft drinks - 1.5, wines and other alcoholic beverages - 2, Naftalan ointment - 2, clothes, footwear and other leather goods - 2, clothing and other cotton products - 2, silk - 1.5, carpets - 2.
