Cargo transportation via pipelines decreased by 6.9 percent in Kazakhstan in January-March 2017 compared to the same period of 2016 and stood at almost 55.84 million tons

Cargo transportation via pipelines decreased by 6.9 percent in Kazakhstan in January-March 2017 compared to the same period of 2016 and stood at almost 55.84 million tons, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee data.

During the period, revenues from cargo transportation via pipelines in Kazakhstan decreased by 19.7 percent and totaled 269.01 billion tenges (331.7 tenges = $1).

In total, over 812.67 million tons of cargo was transported by all types of transport in the country in January- March 2017, or 1.1 percent more than in the same period of 2016. Revenues from cargo transportation by all types of transport hit 448.08 billion tenges in the reporting period.

Cargo and baggage transportation by car and urban transport decreased by 0.2 percent to 669.72 million tons, revenues from cargo transportation by car and urban transport fell by 10.8 percent to 21.82 billion tenges.
Air transportation increased by 25.9 percent to 4,473 tons, revenues from air transportation increased by 6.3 percent to almost 1.22 billion tenges.

Cargo transportation by railways increased by 15.7 percent to 86.62 million tons. Sea transportation increased by 5.7 percent to 485,760 tons.
