Gold, silver output increases in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan produced 19.68 tons of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold in January- March 2017, or 27.6 percent more than in the same period in 2016

Kazakhstan produced 19.68 tons of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold in January- March 2017, or 27.6 percent more than in the same period in 2016, the Kazakh Statistics Committee said.

According to the committee, the fine gold production increased by 48.3 percent - to almost 9.85 tons in Kazakhstan in January-March 2017.
The production of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver decreased by 5.4 percent to 265.4 tons in Kazakhstan in January-March 2017 compared to 1Q2016.

The fine silver production was 264.17 tons in Kazakhstan, that is, 5.5 percent less than in January-March 2016.
Unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold production in Kazakhstan in March 2017 decreased by 9.5 percent compared to February 2017 to 7.06 tons. Production of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver decreased by 3.2 percent in March 2017 compared to February 2017 to 97.13 tons.

In 2016 Kazakhstan produced nearly 74.63 tons of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold, or 17.3 percent more than in the same period in 2015. The output of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver hit 1,180 tons in Kazakhstan in 2016, which is 9.8 percent less than in 2015.
