By Azad Hasanli – Trend:

There is great potential for Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, the country’s Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov said in an interview with the ‘Is Dunyamiz’ magazine established by the Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey and Azerbaijan (TUIB) Public Association.

The minister said that Turkish companies can also participate in technological modernization of Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector.

Asadov noted that the Azerbaijan-Turkey Agricultural Executive Committee had recently discussed the possibility for entrepreneurs of both countries to jointly invest in third countries.

“For example, Turkish entrepreneurs can help export Azerbaijani products to the countries of Europe and the Middle East, and in turn, our entrepreneurs can help Turkish businessmen in delivering their goods to post-Soviet countries,” the minister said.

“At the same time, I would like to note that currently Azerbaijan and Turkey are discussing concrete proposals on the introduction of customs privileges for mutual trade in food and agricultural products.”

Asadov noted that it would also be expedient for Turkish and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to establish joint ventures, expand import-export operations and cooperate in the sphere of supply of agricultural products.
