Passenger transportation slightly up in Kazakhstan

About 7.18 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January-April 2017, which is 0.9 percent more than in the same period of 2016, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee’s data.

Revenues from passenger transportation stood at around 128.74 billion tenges (313.5 tenges = $1) during the period.

Passenger transportation by railway decreased by 0.3 percent and stood at 6.7 million people in January-April. Revenues from passenger transportation by railway increased by 5.1 percent and amounted to 26.39 billion tenges.

Passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles increased by 0.9 percent in January- April 2017 and reached 7.17 billion people. Revenues from passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles hit 31.02 billion tenges in the reporting period.

Air transportation of passengers increased by 14.8 percent and reached almost 1.94 million people during the period. Revenues from air transportation of passengers increased by 8.9 percent and reached 71.33 billion tenges.
