Net profit of Uzbekistan’s Almalyk Complex down 40% in 2016

Net profit of Uzbekistan’s Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Complex, calculated in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), decreased by 40 percent to 163.692 billion soums in 2016 as compared to 273.827 billion soums in 2015, says a report of the Almalyk Complex.

Meanwhile, gross profit of the Complex increased by 24.2 percent to 1.451 trillion soums, while the operating profit rose by 21.3 percent to 700.739 billion soums and the profit before income tax rose by 6.3 percent to reach 448.441 billion soums.

The receipts from product sales increased by 19.8 percent in 2016 to 2.995 trillion soums, according to the report.

The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Complex is one of the biggest producers of non-ferrous metals in Central Asia and the only copper producer in Uzbekistan.
