Uzbekistan to create new mechanism to protect entrepreneurs’ rights

A new mechanism of legal protection and representation of interests and rights of business entities will be introduced in Uzbekistan through a cardinal revision of tasks and directions of activity of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This is stipulated in the decree of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan will focus on foreign economic activity, attracting investments, protection of the rights of business entities, improving the business environment and the investment climate, promoting business activities, interaction with government agencies and training of entrepreneurs.
It is planned to hold regular meetings of the Uzbek president with entrepreneurs to discuss problem issues, and also to hold annual economic forums of the business community, regional and international business representatives.
The Chamber also got the right to request and obtain the necessary information and documents from Uzbekistan’s state and economic authorities, and local executive authorities in order to ensure the settlement of disputes between business entities and state bodies.
