Uzbekistan will increase textile products export to European market

Baku, Azerbaijan, July 3
By Elena Kosolapova – Trend:
Uzbekistan will increase textile products export to European market, according to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s message.
Increase in textile export will be a result of Textile Protocol between Uzbekistan and the EU from April 2011 which came into force on July 1.
This document will increase the bilateral trade in textiles on the basis of introduction the most favored conditions with regard to transit, commodity warehouses, customs duties, payments, taxes and other internal charges applicable to imported Uzbek textile products in the EU; and removal of quantitative restrictions with respect to the trade in textiles.

Uzbekistan is the sixth largest cotton producer and the fifth largest cotton exporter in the world. Annually, the country produces about 3,500 of raw cotton and 1.1 million tons of cotton fiber.
