Azerbaijan: Gunaybank’s assets up by almost 16%

Assets of Azerbaijan’s Gunaybank OJSC increased by 15.8 percent in 2Q17 and reached 144.38 million manats, said the bank’s balance sheet on 1H17 results.

The bank’s assets totaled 124.63 million manats in late March 2017.

During the period, a major part of assets accounted for the bank’s loan portfolio that increased by 1.6 percent during the 2Q17 and totaled 124.77 million manats, as of June 30.

Meanwhile, 29.85 million manats accounted for foreign currency loans, the volume of which increased by 0.8 percent as compared to late March 2017. Reserves for covering possible risks on loans amounted to 21.25 million manats.

As of June 30, liabilities of the bank totaled 84.13 million manats that is 28.1 percent more than the 1Q17. Deposit portfolio of Gunaybank amounted to 43.22 million manats in the period; more than 50 percent of the portfolio accounted for deposits in foreign currency, the volume of which totaled 24.49 million manats.

The bank increased its aggregate capital by 2.2 percent – up to 60.25 million manats during the 2Q17. Meanwhile, the authorized capital of Gunaybank remained unchanged – 64.91 million manats.

Gunaybank OJSC has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1992.
