Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector showed a 4.6 percent growth in January-July 2017, while the oil sector decreased by 7.1 percent compared to the same period of 2016, the State Statistical Committee said in a report.
The total volume of industrial production (the volume of produced goods and rendered industrial services) in Azerbaijan amounted to 21.8 billion manats in January-July 2017, which is by 5.4 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
In January-July 2017, the volume of production in the extractive industry reached 15.3 billion manats, which is by 6.4 percent less than in January-July 2016, the report said.
Some 22.5 million tons of oil and 16.61 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan in January-July 2017.
Oil production decreased by 8.9 percent and gas production decreased by 4.9 percent in January-July 2017 compared to the same period of 2016.
The production volume in the processing industry amounted to 5.4 billion manats (24.8 percent of total industrial output) in January-July 2017, which is by 2.6 percent less than in the same period of 2016.
Production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 0.6 percent in January-July 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, while water supply, treatment and recycling of waste decreased by 1.1 percent.
